Check Out Yo Bum Gurl // Pocket Placement is Everything

Over the last two weeks I've had several expeditions into the sales. Between Scotch Hall in Drogheda, Pavillions in Swords and Town, I've been severely disappointed... that isn't to say I haven't picked up a few bits here and there. You can't leave a day of shopping empty handed! It just feels  so unfulfilling.

But along my travels I was determined to find a new pair of denim shorts, I was willing to spend up to 40 quid for a decent pair. In and out I meandered from one sale rail to another, up to new season stock and back. Nada. Not a thing seemed to fit right, or look right. Nothing was working.

I don't know if anybody else has noticed, but everywhere I turn some girl or another has a pair of these high waisted cheek skimming shorts from River Island. At the front they look okay-ish  ( keeping in mind just because they zip does not mean they fit ladies, we ) But when I turned around to check how my bum looked - its a necessity when buying any type of trousers - it looked shite! One thing working in a design office has though the last few weeks, pockets make everything look better. If done right.

The back pocket placement these shorts would make Beyonce's bootilcious bum look bad. The pockets are placed far too wide apart, which makes your bum and hips appear a lot wider than they actually are. Think of it almost like an optical illusion. The seam down the back is too wide also drawing your eye  down the middle of your bum which is then dragged almost completely horizontally rather than a good tilt upwards, to the pockets. The whole makeup of these shorts are woeful. The flatten, widen and turn your derriere into not so flattering square of junk. But thats my opinion, I'll let you make your own judgement. Next time your trying any denim, be sure to check out yo bum, it really can make the decision on splashing on good stuff seem more worthwhile.

*Forgive for these extremely bad quality photos*
*bum my own*
