Re-occuring Dermatitis // Minuscule Dermatitis

This is going to be a long detailed post about dermatitis, so please bare with me on the length as it's quite detailed and contains progression pictures.

The last time I had dermatitis was back in fourth year, it was a very angry case as my doctor prescribed me incorrectly, and my first ever run in with a skin condition other than eczema, and so quite upsetting when makeup couldn't even cover it up for me.

The dermatitis I had gotten is nicknamed clown disease. As it only appears around the openings of your face; so eyes, ears, mouth and nose. This dermatitis can only be cleared up by prescription antibiotics. If you put a steroid cream, like fucidon near it, it will make it so much worse. Back then I had it just around my mouth, but my local GP gave me a cream which only worsened it. After a week of it getting severely worse, I got an appointment with a dermatologist.  That was 2010, and after 2 months on minesson , it was all cleared up. Even the spots on my back went on a holiday, and never came back!

That being said, the derma that I seem to have, likes to make an itty bitty appearance once in a while. When I'm tired, stressed or run down, a little red blotch shows up in exactly the shape and same position as it did where I first had it. Nothing I couldn't deal with! Bitta concealor and powder and no more red. When the almost scar like blotch shows up I know, I'm not taking care of myself and radify that with lots of water and sleeping more.

But when it showed up again two months ago, and no matter how much sleep or fruit I had seemed to make it ease off. Came to the conclusion this wasn't just a few spots round it and somehow after three years m'clown face was back.  Now its not a ghastly sight when its just red and blotchy, but when it started to itch, and get dry and flaky its just horrible for me to have to deal with, and others to look at (my opinion) Then this time round, it wasnt just around my mouth, I had it at the corners of my eyes, just under my nostrils and a few spots of under my eye. It's a tiring thing to deal with, a few days without makeup are a must. Moisturising big time is a necessity. I had a week where I didnt want anybody to see me as it just looked awful when I put makeup over it.

I'm now finished my first week of antibiotics for it, and already I can see a difference in the effected area. There are some days that makeup needs to be skipped as its so dry. But I went out friday night, and in photos you can't even notice it.

Now three weeks into it, my skin is really starting to clear up. Ill still have blemishes from the dermatitis for another month , until the antibiotics have been in my system for a lengthier time. As the antibiotics have worked, I've noticed whats been clearing up on my skin. Intially when I began my course of minisson I thought I had a breakout too ( from malling my face , touching it too much, cleaning it too much, in a bid to rid the dermatitis) But now that I'm coming to the end of my third week, looking at the photos from the beginning I've noticed that what I thought had been spots/blemishes where actually the dermatitis. Ive found that the minisson attacks the main problem at the beginning and as it lingers in my system any usual spots or monthly breakouts are very very slight.

^^ WEEK 1 ^^

^^ WEEK 2  ^^
this was an odd one. I found my eye area was less dry and red looking, but the inflammation around my nose got more noticable and because of the area I was extremely aware of how angry and itchy it became. As they say before you get better, you tend to get worse.

^^ End of Week 2 ^^
*excuse my filthy nails had been working in the warehouse this day*
This was the first day I felt my skin was up for a bit makeup.  All I wore was some light powder and bb cream under my eyes . I took the photos later in the day as I find as I touch my face so much it never lasts! As you can see my eyes again acted up, but my nose was far less irritable by the end of the week.
