Christmas Run-Up // John Lewis

Christmas Adverts in November, what other way can business gently remind us that christmas is on its way. Year in year out we either see business use the same classic christmas ad, like the renowned Coca Cola advert, or try to change it slightly by using different models in it or a new background tune ( I'm thinking those terrible Pringle advertisements )

Once in a while though, a brand will release a beautifully thought and made christmas ad which they've clearly spent money and time on. I recently saw the John Lewis Christmas ad, titled The Bear and The Hare, and Ill admit firstly I was blown away, and it made me well up.  An absolutely wonderfully made ad, its rememberable, it pulls on your heartstrings and it makes you want to stop into John Lewis.

John Lewis have made a small ad, thats turned into one of the biggest things being discussed in the festive run-up. The ad tells the animated story of how a hare is battling to ensure his friend the bear doesn't miss out on Christmas. I love everything about this ad,  from Lily Allen singing her version Only We Know ( originally by Keane ) to the style of the animation. For my age group it should remind us of Watership Down.

I don't want to talk too much about it, everyone just needs to go watch it if they already haven't! Another quick thing about the ad thats super exciting if you are a fan of hers... Lily Allen has finished maternity leave..

What I Wore // 21st Worthy

On friday night past, I had a very close friends 21st, being honest I was extremely unsure about what to wear. The girls that would be attending I knew would be extremely glamorous and dolled up to the nines. False lashes, false nails, tan the works. And that they all would be gorgeous. Since the whole nails and tan thing isn't me, I wanted to try the whole big hear, smokey eyes and be matchy matchy with my outift. I love the glamorous look but sometimes I feel its just not me, which truthfully isn't, Im not big on completely dolling myself up. I'll make an effort, always, but god be the day, I push out the boat.

Well folks, this outfit was me pushing out the boat. Backless top, short skirt, my hair actually DOWN.  And I really enjoyed the end look. I had bought the bodysuit on Missguided for 14 quid and my peplum skirt was an impulse buy over a year ago in stradivarius for 9.99! Which I never really had anything to wear with until I bought the bodysuit.

Stradivarius is doing really similar ones at the moment but in a jersey material instead. My heels are the same heels I wore for my debs, they're from Aldo and were a major indulgence for my wardrobe at 115 blips. Sometime after the debs I had lost one of the ankle straps.... devo. But had a brainwave to replace the ankle straps with some blue ribbon. They somehow manage to keep my feet secure, even with a little boogie

Jusiane Open Back Long Sleeve Bodysuit  // Missguided - 13.58

Black Faux Leather Peplum Skirt with Gold Detail on Back // Stradivarius - 9.99

Cobalt Blue Court Heels ( now due to loss of strap!) // Aldo - 115

Halloween // The Celebrities

Heidi Klum is known for outlandish yearly halloween parties, and her amazing costumes. This years 13th annual bash was no different. Heidi has dressed up as everything from an angry gorilla to a latex clad dominatrix. This year though the supermodel really went OTT for her halloween party. It being probably her quirkiest yet!

Having turned 40 in June, Heidi was drowned in questions about how it felt to be old! She told people magazine;

  "There was so much talk about me turning 40 this year and what it felt like to be older. I thought, really? I will show you old!"

She did just that as she walked on her orange carpet dressed up as 95 year old woman Thursday night. Adorned with prosthetics to boot, a tartan two piece and walking cane, the only way to distinguish her identity are those fabulous pins of hers. A mighty epic costume I must say. She definitely would have won the costume competition in the local nightclub on Thursday. Of
course I appreciate the effort she made, and love the fact as a supermodel she wore this, but being just that, there were a few publications that thought she was taking the piss, and that she wasn't being very witty at all...

Whats your thoughts on Heidi's transformation?
