The Roundup // Trend Forecast // Nasty Mesh

Jason Wu

Kye

Rag & Bone

Sally LaPointe

Out of all the trends, collections and creativity that was displayed at New York Fashion Week, there were few looks I found that could become a staple but also be that one piece in your wardrobe that could be a risk. Every designer has their own approach to NYFW, be it playing it safe and designing a collection that embodies spring 2014 with more functional than creative pieces. Now, let it be clear, I for one do love those collections, as they make NYFW sometimes seem far more approachable than the  riskier "GAGA"-esque collections.

But, its just those crazy clothes that create the buzz around the week, and for the fashion heads lends to a higher appreciation and respect for the industry.

Out of all the weird and wonderfull-ness of the week that was in it,  my favourite thing to appear through several collections was the Mesh Fad. Its sexy, flirty, risky, dance, even demure in jason wu's case, but it hit all the panels.

Sally LaPointe's  exposing plaid dress, combined with a patent leather bomber jacket hit all my amazing boxes. Jason Wu, whos designs are always strong, but very classic,  showcased a showstopping skin exposing gauzy dress with two thigh slits and a bodice. Can anyone say, Amsterdam Red Light, but hell with it, its Jason Wu, he can design what he wants, and I'll love it.

Mesh, and see through skirts arent for everyone, but there will be so many interpretations of this grea
club look throughout HIghstreets soon enough. Mesh paneling, flimsy dresses, see-through jackets 'm sure will all be making some sort of occurance in our wardrobes for Spring 2014.
